Weekend recap

Our weekend was filled with new beginnings, good food, love and other unforgettable moments.
I finally got married this weekend. It was a very private ceremony with me, my mr. a witness and our pastor. It felt like we eloped. It was a spiritual ceremony and no one knew except for a handful of people.
There were no photos. No celebration. All we wanted was to have a blessed union. BUT... of course, no lady can ever live a life without a beautiful wedding she had always fantasized ever since she was a little girl. So the wedding is set next year on our first wedding anniversary. When we can invite everyone and get married again with the whole shebang! So I have one year to prepare the wedding of my dreams! I'm so excited.

Yes, people call me Ninja. The "congratulations' got ruined when the box was closed.

My cousin and I shopped for sweets today. We were in the mood for lots of sugar! Plus, I felt like I deserved it. She bought a huge tiramisu cake for me and my Mister, complete with a beautiful message written on the box. And here are some of the boxes and boxes of sweets we bought today. I think we over did it but I forgive myself.

Last Saturday, my Mr. and I went to Little Tokyo and we ate at our uber favorite restaurant,

shopped for Japanese chocolates and we were entered to a dart game (for every $10 purchase) and my mister won a japanese chocolate snack and this carbonated drink in the most intriguing packaging.

When you open it a glass ball drops and stays there on that spot for some reason. for what? I don't know but it's fun.

The cutest thing ever

As I was shopping the other day, I found something, that I almost screamed because of it's cuteness.

This little guy...
it makes my fingers look gigantic

How cute is this button? It's so tiny! I don't know what to do with it but I know I had to have it!

Here it is side by side with other buttons. The big one is a regular sized button, the pastel colored ones are tiny too but look how tiny the brown ones are? Unbelievable. you can almost inhale it!
So what do I do with these cuties?
Any suggestions?

Busy day

I didn't know how hard it is to prepare for a craft show till now. I have utmost respect for everyone who does this for a living. I've had many sleepless nights. Such very long days are spent coming up with new designs and mixing up concoctions. My studio is no longer big enough for me and now I've taken over the dining table too. But it makes me so happy to be doing what I love.
my desk
My daughter made me this origami lantern, isn't it beautiful?

Some of these are going to my online shop this weekend. I hope you guys check it out.
Happy weekend!

One Summer Day

My cousin's family came from the bay area. We went to Santa Monica Pier and I was in photo op heaven.

Here are some photos I took around the area.

Happy Weekend to all of you! I'll post more photos soon.

Movie Friday

I've always, always loved Britanny Murphy. Her character in 'Uptown Girls' was one of the inspirations for CHICKYTHING. I cried when she passed away. It still makes me sad even now. Last week, my kids and I watched her film called 'The Ramen Girl'. And my kids and I loved it so much! It reminded me of Karate Kid but instead of Kung fu being taught, it was how to make Ramen.
Britanny is such a refreshing sight. I really love her in her light-hearted films. I'm sure you would enjoy her character in this film. And you can watch it with your kids or girlfriends.
This movie made me fall in love with Japan all the more. Their artistry in food is just unbelievable. I will never, ever get tired of Japanese cuisine.
By the way, enjoy this movie with some ramen. We were all desperate for some ramen after seeing this film and it was way too late in the night to find any nearby.

Age is just a number

It was my mister's bday yesterday. We went to our favorite Chinese restaurant again. We had oysters, lobsters, and many other yummies.

I invited his family over and he had no idea they were coming. Everybody in the whole restaurant were looking when his family came. He was so surprised! Mission accomplished!

Here are some snapshots

I don't have a lot of photos, the kids had the camera and the flash happened to be off. So lots of blurry photos.

My first ever craft show!

and I'm scared as a cat afraid of water!
This is my first time, ever! Please any suggestion is welcome. I just made up my mind today in joining so I am super busy gathering everything I need in such little time. I will be bringing so many pretty stuff including vintage, clothing and accessories! I hope to see some of you there! Wish me luck!

When you've been good...

Good things will find you.
Remember this? My mom's friend came again with a trunk load of old things!
I can't take photos of everything because there's just too much. But I screamed, jumped up and down when I opened this little white box...
And saw these...
I'm pretty sure that this is an authentic vintage chanel brooch. It belonged to a wealthy lady who was 92 years old. I don't think she would buy a knock off.
and it has this on the back...
Just lovely! I am not a fan of Louis Vuitton or other designer labels but with Chanel, I am just obsessed!
So this piece finding it's way on to my hands is just a miracle. I'm one happy girl.

My baby is a genius

My son at 2 years old is an expert in using our imac. As I was looking through photos in my files, I saw these...And I couldn't stop laughing.
Hilarious!
He can also surf through youtube to watch nick jr. videos. He can read too! I will post videos soon. Like what Petsugar said here...This kid deserves his own blog!
What do you think?

Movie friday + book too!

I bought so many books yesterday at Borders and each book costs only $1! My Mr. are crazy about books so we were so happy we ended up having coffee there just in time for the dollar sale. So the whole day I was so busy reading one of the books we've bought. This is perfect for all the housewives out there...
I didn't realize how fortunate I am to be a stay at home mom and to have a mister who works so hard to support us until I read this book. There were times that I felt so trapped and miserable but this book opened my eyes and made me realize how blessed I am to not be working every day in the real world and that I can be with my kids all day, every day. Yes, after 4 kids and years and years of motherhood, it's just now that I've realized that. And I'm sure a lot of housewives out there feel the same way somehow sometimes. If you are one of them then you must read this book and it'll change your life. It did mine and I know these coming days, I will be a better mother, person and wife.

I also watched this movie today...

I don't like action movies so much but this one I really liked. Quite suspenseful, very entertaining. I really loved it from beginning to end.
So I suggest that you put the kids to bed (if you have any) and ask the man in your life to watch it with you. He watches those chick flicks with you so why not watch this with him and I promise you would enjoy it as much as he would.
happy, happy weekend!

Mickey D's

I miss the Philippines. Terribly. One of the many things that I miss there is food being delivered to your door. Almost all restaurants and fast food delivers food to your door which is rarely done here except if it's pizza or Chinese. Even Mcdonald's delivers there. Oh and I miss the slightly different mcdonald's menu. Over there, we have chicken and rice, oh and the mcspaghetti, I sure do miss that!

they deliver the food using motorcycles

Mcspaghetti
One more thing that I get super excited about when I was a little girl are the Happy meals! They weren't junk toys like those found here in the U.S. I remember the ones that I had were high quality toys, school supplies and other cute stuff like this...

I've heard that for each country, Mcdonald's changes their menu depending on what the people in that country are used to. I think us here in the U.S. have the most boring menu. Here's a peek of what they have that we don't.
China

And France has a pattiserie, with croissants, desserts  including an array of french macarons!
 Germany
beer!!!

cupcakes!
 Finland

 Greece
I could go on and on and on. How exciting it is to find these things with a touch of the button!
Oh well, those are what were missing out on. Someday, I will be visiting every Mcdonalds in the world!
Have you had anything from any Mcdonald's outside the U.S.? Please share, I would love to know!
