Happy Birthday Miss troublemaker

We love you~

Love all wrapped up

Oh wow, Christmas is already over?! How fast was that!
My Christmas is quite unforgettable. I was sick! This never happened to me before. I am now feeling better but not completely recovered. If I can do it all over again I would! As I have been waiting for this day for so long and yet I got to spend it laying down on the couch or my bed all day.

But we still enjoyed it. Christmas is still my favorite day of all the year!

Here is the custom made/handmade zebra that we gave our son. We wanted it to be an heirloom piece. Something he could pass on to his own child in the future. There was this old couple we met in a craft show who made woodworks and one of them was a wooden rocking horse. I then asked them to make a zebra for him and sure they did. It is beautifully made, very sturdy and quite different from all the rocking horses you see in toy stores.
Here he is checking out his new ride.

My 10 year old daughter (oh wait she turned 11 yesterday!)surprised me

with this beautiful necklace! She gave me a present all wrapped up with her artwork and I was expecting a handmade ornament that her class used to make all these years. But in it was a pink box with bows on it and inside was a heart necklace that sparkled! I was in awe. I was just sitting there with my mouth open while she stood there smiling at me and enjoying my bewilderment.

and then she blurted "merry christmas mom". She said she got the money from her puppy bank. Oh how thoughtful and sweet and unexpected! She then gave her stepdad a mug that said 'superdad' and he loved it so. She then went to my mom and gave her one too, it was a keychain that said 'grandma spoils me'. Everyone was so happy with their presents while the twins stood in envy. And then she said "oh wait I have something for you guys too!" and my twins teary eyed and all said "you do?". We were so happy as every day of their entire lives was full of bickering and well you know how it goes. She then handed them a beautifully wrapped present and they opened it together. And to all our astonishment... my twins screamed and said "Mama, these are all our stuff!"
She did it again. And it wasn't even April Fool's! She wrapped their own stuff and gave it as a present! The box was filled with their own bracelets and pens. And then said
"I'm sorry, I ran out of money, at least I gave them something".
My mom and I just looked at each other, speechless and then we just bursted out laughing. And everyone started laughing, even the twins.
I just looked at the brighter side of it and realized that they would be talking about this for years until they all grow old.
Classic.

But of course she didn't escape the consequences of her actions, I made her realize that it wasn't nice to pull that trick on her sisters. She understood and came up with the idea to give our present for her to her sisters.
Problem solved.

Now we are so ready to face the New Year. And I hope that it is filled with wonderful things, more love and good news! How was your Christmas Day?

Beautiful Story

Our new poodle is here! Isn't he adorable? We named him 'Story'.
We are still adjusting to the new addition to our family because it has been a very long time since the last time we had pets. So now it's all new again, just like having a new child.

But the kids were all surprised and screamed and jumped! And that's what makes me happy, when the kids are happy.

Welcome home Story!

homemade Christmas treats

These past few days were crazy! I've been doing so many things here and there. Last night, this was what kept me busy!

Some of our family members and friends are going to get these treats. I love getting edibles on Christmas so I hope they like these.

I wrapped them with strips of scrap booking paper. Lined the gable boxes that I already have with parchment paper.

It's nice stocking up on materials that when you need them, you don't have to run out and buy.
Very chewy cookies!
mini gable boxes

Aren't they pretty?

There's no eating on our dinner table as it is filled with these goodies! Oh I just love Christmas! Don't you?

EAT

They're here! And they're huge! They make our stuff look like miniatures. But I still love them! Not everyone would though! What do you think?

I love how it's unexpected and the color just pops. I don't think this is the permanent spot for it though. The ceiling is slanted and it makes it look crooked. But I'll keep it here for awhile.

Goodbye pretty girl...

I can't believe that Britanny Murphy just passed away. I am still a bit shocked by this awful news! A piece of trivia... My pinksugarninja creations (i.e. perfumes etc) was inspired by Marie Antoinette and Brittany's character in 'Uptown Girls'. I can no longer count the times I've seen that movie, trying to absorb Molly Gunn's character to be able to apply her flair to my creations.
Oh how I love that movie! And how I loved the perky, clueless, sweet Molly Gunn!
I even know the words to the song ' Molly smiles'. I have always considered that film to be the closest to my own life story. Having gone through riches to rags, daddy's little girl, I kind of saw myself in Molly's shoes... Clueless about life and how to survive on her own.

We are both 32 years old. That gives me goosebumps. I wonder what caused her death. I have a feeling she had always been anorexic. She was just so skinny. And she wasn't like that at all when she was in 'Clueless'.

Oh, I would miss you Molly Gunn! I would miss you Brittany! I know wherever you are, you are still looking so lovely with things that sparkle on your hair. Thanks for giving me inspiration to make beautiful things for beautiful people just as you were.
I will never forget you... Ever.

Daddy's little girl paints the world with her magic wand
Daddy's little child breathes new life to the morning time for me
Though we're apart, her thoughts follow me
When I come home, Molly smiles with the dawn
Molly smiles, and she radiates the glow around her halo
When she plays, Molly smiles
On a summer day, Molly smiles
A new day, Molly smiles

Daddy's little girl ties a ribbon around my heart
Daddy's little child waves goodbye to the ocean tide that sweeps me
Though we're apart, she's a part of me

Molly smiles with the dawn
Molly smiles and she radiates the glow around her halo
When she plays, Molly smiles
On a summer day, Molly smiles
A new day, Molly smiles

When I come home, Molly smiles with the dawn
Molly smiles and she radiates the glow around her halo
When she plays, Molly smiles
On a summer day, Molly smiles
A new day, Molly smiles

When the days have gone grey,
Nothing's wrong when Molly smiles

every story has an end but in life every ending is just a new beginning

Gifting mood

Last night, my kids and I baked some sugar cookies and blueberry muffins. We put them in little baggies I got from Target a few years ago. I made bow cards and put dice earrings on, I also included my blog's business card just in case they get bored during the Christmas break :)

We wrapped the cookies/muffins in parchment paper and tied silver tinsel string around it.

They enjoyed writing little notes for their friends.

Then I got so tired and forgot the second batch of sugar cookies in the oven.I remembered it after one hour, before we went to bed! That was scary! but I'm just thankful that I smelled it before completely forgetting about it.

Have a happy Christmas everyone!

My cousin's wedding

was thousands of miles away... So I wasn't able to attend. Here are a few photos that I'd like to share. I apologize for the poor quality as they were only taken from a video slide.

These are my cousins and I miss them so much!

My Aunt. I love this shot. They look like twins.

The dress was divine! She designed it herself. Isn't it beautiful? And how special it is to wear the wedding gown of your dreams!

She was indeed a very beautiful bride and the wedding was equally beautiful! I feel so sad that I missed such a wondrous event in our family. I just thank technology like emails and videos that somehow I felt like I was there with them.
