Un beau matin (A beautiful morning)

via

One of my goals this year is to learn a new language. And the language of my choice is French. I started today and it's easier than I expected. I am very optimistic that I would learn this very complicated language before the year ends. I promised myself that when I go to Paris, I would not be carrying an English to French dictionary.

This language is so beautiful.

* I will be posting soon about my recent craft show experience.

Movie Friday

My sister suggested that I see this movie. She talked about it with so much enthusiasm, so today I did.
Oh my, If you want suspense then this is the movie to see! Husbands and wives would enjoy this film from beginning to end.
It's an old movie but with a timeless plot and superb acting. It could even pass for a film that was made this year! Well if it was HD that is. But, I can't suggest this movie enough. I loved it from beginning to end. It reminded me of the film "Taken" which was an awesome movie too.
Go rent it, Find it on Netflix. Make popcorn, cuddle with your mister and prepare for some action!
Happy Weekend everyone and wish me luck this Sunday for my first ever craft show! Woohoo! I think were ready!

Pretty shoes

The craft show is on Sunday, I have 3 days left to prepare for it. I haven't done anything these past few days. The terrible heat in L.A. has taken most of my energy.

But I promise today will be a very productive day!
Here's a little short post about pretty shoes that I want to share with you and hopefully it would make your day better, the way it made mine!

I must say that this Blythe shoes is such a work of art! I love it! Unfortunately, I don't know where to get them.

Wedding Inspiration

I've been daydreaming all day. A perfect distraction for this terrible heat in Southern California. 100+ degrees is not really my kind of weather. I'm a Winter girl and I hope winter comes quick. I'm excited to hang out by the fire place with my hot cocoa.

So here is what's keeping me distracted. Thinking about my dream wedding! I'm currently gathering inspirations and storing them into a folder on my laptop. I love how it's coming along.

Art love

One of the many beautiful things I found last weekend was a beautiful original painting framed in the most gorgeous golden ornate frame. I originally bought it, thinking I would change it to a big mirror for the wall and probably paint it white. But as I stared at it, the more I fell in love with it. I love it just the way it is.

It's now on our bedroom wall.
It was even signed by the artist
this painting is huge!
Look how beautiful the frame is
For $1.00, Yes for a buck! This is one of my greatest finds!
Can't wait for Saturday!

Sweet little post

I want to share with you what I saw when I woke up yesterday morning.

Oh Magnolia!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that Magnolia Bakery has opened a branch in L.A. Unbelievable! I never heard that they were even planning to open one. And now, here it is in all it's cupcake glory! It is finally open for business and I can't wait to go in there and have a taste of the cupcake that started all the cupcake mania!

Inspired

I've spent my Saturday visiting estate sales, watching cupcake wars marathon on food channel and gathering inspiration for my son's circus party. I can't complain. I love this day!

Here are some photos that are very inspiring that I want to share with you.

Ah, I have so many ideas in my head!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post.

Circus party

My son is turning 3! Oh how fast those days flew by. I am not really liking how fast time is moving. It seems like only yesterday, when I was holding him in my arms. Okay, enough with this. His birthday is a happy day! I should be happy!

So about the party, I've decided to have a circus theme. I am not really into tv/cartoon character birthdays plus do you have any idea how much those cost at the party store? Plus he already sees them on tv everyday.

Here's the invite I made tonight. I apologize for blocking out of the address, I wouldn't want the world to show up at my door and I don't have enough food for everyone. :)

So I'm thinking there would be a lot of mustache-y things, lots of stripes, animals, and bow ties.

Movie Friday

My children and I watched the movie called 'children of invention' the other day. It was quite a sad movie but not really disturbing kind of sad. I think it made my children appreciate that they have a roof over their head and that I'm around to tend for them.
I really liked the movie. Though it may not be for people who does not enjoy indie films. Indie films are slow at times and have weird endings. But I'm used to that, of all the hundreds of indie films I've seen in my life.
I really recommend this because sometimes we overlook the good things we have around us. We take our possessions and loved ones for granted.  Make this a movie to see this weekend. I promise it's not disturbing. It's just so real. It's about life. It's about someone you might even know.

and the trailer:

Have a great weekend!

I miss you chair

I bought this vintage chair, sold it and I miss it every day...
I hope to find another one soon. I've been trying to find it's replacement to no avail. I will never give up.

Daydreaming...

One of my dream destinations is Portland, Oregon. Some of you might say, "why not go now?" Well, having a big family like ours, even watching a movie happens rarely. Specially if no one can stay with the kids. But I am very optimistic. Lately, my Mr. and I can now leave the house for an hour or two, now that the twins are 14 years old and they can watch their siblings BUT a few times a week, I stay with 5 kids (I have four) because my sister works and her daughter stays with us so that means less time to get away because I can't leave her with my kids.

So now, I am daydreaming for that day I can finally pack up and leave with my mr. and just drive, drive away...
My goal is to do this within the next 6 months! A girl can always dream right?

I love boutique hotels. Although our house looks like one, I still enjoy checking in hotels like it. I want to stay in ACE HOTEL in Portland. Look how cool it is...
I am in love with this mural (and I'm not even fond of cats) and the vintage sofa is just to die for!
So cozy
Well, someday, I'll see you Mr. Portland! And I know I'll fall in love with you all the more.
How about you? Where do you want to go right now, if you can?

Pretty gumball jewelry

I found these beautiful vintage authentic lucite necklaces at an old shop that was closing. They are so beautiful!
Pictures does not do them justice! I am bringing these pretties to the craft show.

Some will find it's way to the shop soon! After the show, I will update my website. I promise.
