We had an awesome weekend. Full of good food and good times. First stop for 'brunch' was the famous Philippe's in downtown Los Angeles. We wanted to take the kids there because they haven't been there yet. But oh my! the line was sooo long and the place was full of tourists. Of all the restaurants in chi town, it's just not worth the wait. I had a lamb chop french dipped, good but not out of this world good. The kids didn't really enjoy the food. I don't think we're going back anytime soon. I think we spent almost a $100 just for sandwiches. So not worth it.
That night, my mister and I went to this Korean place called Shilla. I didn't know what to expect but he likes it a lot and he often goes there with his colleagues. So, I went along and was I surprised.
The food was awesome, the ambiance too. The service was superb and I just loved everything about it that as soon as we left, we were already planning in going back.
We had ribs and bulgogi. And we grilled it right on the table. Of course, like the usual Korean restaurants they serve you a lot of good appetizers and they were just delish!
I had eaten so much that night. It was just unbelievable! I cook so I am very hard to please when it comes to food but this place is just awesome! You must definitely try!
After that we drove another half an hour to go to koreatown in this coffee shop a block away from my old apartment. I used to live in an apartment in the middle of Koreatown in downtown Los Angeles and I used to walk to these cool coffee shops. Unfortunately, that cafe closed down and it was replaced by this place called 'Holly's Coffee'. The place is very beautiful but the coffee is quite bad. We had this ice shaved dessert that I used to have at the same cafe that they have replaced, good but not as good as the old one's.
Bottomline, it was a long day but it was filled with good times.
