The Wonderland tea party update

For everyone who doesn't know...I am doing a mad, wacky tea party for my 14 year old twins. And it's this Saturday already! And I am way behind but I'm trying to squeeze in a little blogging to show you how it's coming along.

It's very Tim Burton. A bit dark which is I think fitting for 14 year olds. We decided to go all out because pretty soon, they won't be interested in these kind of parties anymore and I sure will miss it.

Last weekend, we bought this leafless tree. Very Tim Burton, isn't it? Well not yet.

I painted it black! And it so reminds me of the black trees in the Alice in Wonderland movie!

This tree would go to the dessert table along with the self serve giveaways/party favors.

I then wrapped individual tea bags in kraft paper and printed butterflies (from google images) on cardstock and glued them on the baggies and stuck a leather string so I can hang them on the tree.
Like this...
I wanted more trees all over the house but that would be a dream!

Do you like them? I sure do! I am so excited for the tea party (with a twist) and my kids and their friends too! I'm sure it'll be a blast!
I've also planned some Alice themed games, a make shift photo booth and some other cool stuff which of course I would be blogging about!

Happy Tuesday Pretties!

Awesome idea - I love this! And it's so beautiful/cute/eerie! I did a similar tree thing for Easter, but painted it white and had paper-mache eggs hanging from it. It might be in need of a makeover now I've seen this!
