Last night, we had dinner at TGIF. We had so much fun! This happens rarely now because the girls are now off the kid's menu, if you're a parent, well you know what that means.

Surprise For a Another Birthday Girl

My daughter (no.3) celebrates her birthday on December 27 (she turns 12) but every time we hold a party at home, only a few comes over. Of course, it's the holidays and everyone is busy. I came up with the idea of celebrating it in her class on the last day of school before winter break. It was a secret between me and her teacher.
Oh boy, was she surprised! I never (I mean never!) see her smile in photos, except today!

These are the cupcakes I made. Looks like they were store bought but no, I worked all night long! I bought the cupcake boxes from our local grocery store. I didn't know I could do that. I paid $1.00 for five 12 slot cupcake boxes. Awesome!


I ran out of cupcake liners so I ended up using little cups which I cut using vintage zigzag metal scissors. They ended up using spoons to eat these little babies.

I have two days left to turn this house into a Holiday getaway (meaning super clean and super pretty), my sister and her family (who I haven't seen in four years) are coming over for the Holidays. So excited and kind of scared of all the projects, cleaning and organizing I have to face! Wish me luck.

Hair Story and What She Wore

We colored our hair this weekend. Mine has streaks of magenta and all my girls have bleached edges/tips. My other daughter couldn't decide which color to do so she has bleached and a little magenta. I really liked how it looks like so I might do it on my hair too.

This is what she wore to school. I don't choose clothes for my kids anymore but I have for many years. Of all my kids, she is the most unafraid of taking risks when it comes to clothes. She would wear anything, even clashing prints.

How it looks like on the back. They have perfect black hair, so coloring only the edges would not damage their hair and we could just cut it off if they get tired of it.

The perfect compromise

What is this? This is the best invention of the year (not the ipad as you may have thought) It's called Google Tv. Internet on tv! You can surf the net and watch tv simultaneously in one screen!My toddler don't mind watching on a little screen as I surf blogs. I can also control my DVR by using the keyboard or watch Netflix. Awesome, awesome! I can listen to grooveshark while I cook, surf websites on the big screen while I boil water. It's the perfect gadget for moms and bloggers.

My husband being a computer programmer got this for free at a conference (and a droid phone too) but you can get your own google tv for only $299. Not bad right? This is the computer of the future! Why do we need monitors anyway if we already have a flat screen tv?

Get yours here. I know you want it. And no, they didn't pay me, I just love ours that much.

Weird hat on funny kid

As I was doing my chores yesterday, I caught a glimpse of my son with a weird looking hat on his head. It took me a minute or two to realize what it was. He flipped his fabric toy box liner and put it on his head. I thought it was hilarious! I was laughing so hard as I was taking photos of this priceless moment.

How creative right? I hope he made you laugh.

Paperchase Overload

Last night at my mr. and I's usual coffee date at Borders Bookstore (where they have Seattle's Coffee and a Paperchase inside the bookstore), we went crazy over the mini Christmas decors they had. He loved the black mini tree and I loved everything! We ended up skipping coffee because we spent so much buying these little pretty things! So worth it, I must say!
