I know I've featured our bedroom before but there have been a few changes lately so I thought of sharing it with all of you. I am in awe myself of how I've filled our whole house of thrifted finds and things that we got for free from good people. I know you too will be surprised as I tell you the source of each item from the space. I will also be featuring every other room in the house on future posts.
But for now, it's our bedroom...
Forgive me for the blurry photos. I had no idea how difficult it was to take interior design photos until today. The room has only one window so there was no natural light coming in.
I love how our room resembles a bedroom that you would probably see in the 1800's, except for modern technology mixed in. It is quite magical when the candles are lit and moonlight shines in from the wooden blinds. I often imagine, as I lay on my bed that I was born many centuries ago. It makes me feel safe. I can't explain why.
Things on the photo:
the orange quilt was from Anthropologie, it's probably the most expensive thing we ever bought for the room at almost $300 (aside from the tv). I got it for my birthday around three years ago.
The goose down comforter was a hand me down, the same person who gave us the wooden moroccan style desk, chair, all the curtains, rods and wooden blinds in the whole house and wooden candle pillars (amongst other things you'll see around our house)
The wooden dresser was a yard sale find for only $3.00
This antique cabinet was from an estate sale, $150.00
The mirror, we have two, I found one at a thrift store for $6.00 and found another one from the same store, months later for the same price.
The LaLaLove You print was from Sparklepower. for $10.00
The vintage needle art below it, $3.00
Rembrandt Painting which I so love was a thrifted find for $15.00
Girl with a pearl earring on wood, antique find from etsy.
Paris wooden carving plaque, antique, thrifted for $4.00
I love the details on this old table.
One day, I was thinking of this alarm clock/radio that I had back in College. I used to stare at it during sleepless nights and I missed it so much. That same week, I found the same exact radio at a thrifting trip for $2.95. I dream good things to life.
The glass lamps, I have two for both sides of the bed, $5.00 each.
The metal (it's soo heavy!) sunburst mirror was also a hand me down. The antique tv console was a yard sale find for $3.00. Bose speakers for the tv, brand new, hand me down.
Future goals for the room, well, I really want to make it brighter, probably add some punches of color here and there. I'm thinking of painting the walls white too. The floors will also be painted white. What do you think?

Happy Saturday
Yesterday was awesome. I had so much fun thrifting with mom, her best friend, my sister and niece. I had great, great finds! Here are some of them.
I was so eager to hang the Ice cream sign up. Here's how it looks like now.
and the key holder
and the most exciting find of the day is this...
Who can afford to throw this beautiful thing away! This is a $24 cup that I got for only .95 cents.
It's so beautiful I can't even drink from it. I'll use it as a pen holder in my studio instead.
See you Tomorrow!

more recent vintage purchases
I love vintage things as you may already know. Here are my recent purchases. I love them so!
A vintage sign. It's now on my kitchen wall.
needs two more screws. But I was so excited to take a picture!
Another vintage find... A crocheted granny throw. It's so beautiful and warm.
Very beautifully done. Already an art itself, don't you think? The colors are wonderful. I wonder who the person behind such a lovely creation.
and last but not the least... This cute little girl with big eyes!
who has a big heart... So cute!
Ooops, she's older than me! (dated 1970)

I hope you love this post as much as I do.

Recent vintage purchase
I am so excited for my most recent purchase. And I can't wait to get it in the mail!
I've been looking all over for vintage marquees that would go to my kitchen. And I couldn't find the perfect ones until I saw these...
Isn't this amazing? I love it! And it's quite big measuring 12 inches tall. I am planning to reverse the word and put 'tea' instead of eat on the kitchen wall. What do you think? which one do you prefer? 'eat' or 'tea'? I would love to hear what you think.
These weren't cheap but I love how it'll change my wall and make it look so eclectic, the look I am going for! Oh I can't wait!

My wonderland
I love that I have a space that it's truly mine. It's quite a mess and I really don't mind. I love everything here, though just like me, it is constantly evolving. I want to paint the walls, I just haven't figured out what color yet (any suggestions?)
Here are some vintage buttons in jars. And my vintage, rare, Alice in wonderland and Through the looking glass book collection.

I love that my walls are filled with art. I want more actually. I want to purchase a Kurt Halsey next.
Here is a painting that I made. I love her.

I collect many things. Just like these vintage threads.

I made the bunting out of yellow fabric. I really love how it adds some whimsy to my studio. I made the curtains but It's only there temporarily. I will eventually change it.

I just love this. It's vintage. And Juliet is pregnant. Apparently, some say that Juliet was pregnant when she killed himself in the Shakespeare play. Hmmm, makes you think 'eh?
I got this salvaged window art at the flea. I am thinking of hanging it on our bedroom wall as a headboard but I'm still thinking about it because I love it here too. It's pretty huge and it just makes a great impact in any room.

I love my fake cuckoo clock. And I love the color.
I will post more photos soon. Right now, I have a mini pink Christmas tree in my studio and I just adore it!

Unique Los Angeles part one
My family and I went to 'Unique L.A.' and we loved it! It was quite overwhelming though. There were just too may good stuff!

I wish there were arrows on the floor or aisle numbers or some sort of markings so we know that we've been that way. Or they should have grouped the kid stuff together or the clothes together. It was like a very confusing maze. They gave us coupons for free drinks but we couldn't find the booth!!! There was an information booth but there was no one there, only a sign that said 'be back in 10' but I kept checking it way beyond 10 minutes but there was still nobody there.

We bought:
Kiefer from Kauzbots (see post below)
shirts from RIOT
shirts from Hakaa apparel
a bow ring from Braskie
( If you see your work, please let me know so I can properly credit you)
More photos coming soon!

My dream couch...

is finally here!!! All my life I've dreamt of having a deep purple sofa! And it has finally found it's way to me!
I am so glad no one searches for 'purple couch' on craigslist or I would not have found this.
It's in perfect condition! No damages and it's very high quality. I love the fringe, the color, the size (we have a very big family with 4 kids and we all fit here). I just love everything about it.I am in love.
It came from Beverly Hills. I love it that rich people get tired of their stuff and does not care about the money you pay them for their stuff. Because...
