A dose of pretty

The rain in 'sunny' Los Angeles just won't stop. Though we love rain, too much ain't so pretty.
Our dog is sad because he can't walk out and the baby is not too happy because mom is so lazy on cold weather.

But cold, wet and rainy days mean hot cocoa and cozy moments by the fireplace. I promise to enjoy this before I find myself in scorching heat in the summertime. I am not really a hot weather kind of girl. I love Autumn and cold dry Decembers.

I've been working so hard and my studio is a mess! But it's a very "pretty mess". So I decided to take a few pictures of things around me.

Like these lace flowers. Very pretty.

I just love how all the colors blend like beautiful words in a song.

Sometimes in my dreams, this is what I see and I wake up smiling.

Lots of reds and I didn't even stage this.

I call it beautiful chaos.

Japan by car

Yesterday was a super big day! Filled with our favorite things... Everything Japanese!

Like this super cute photo booth.Look at how cute this is!!!
and this store window!

Of course, we always stop by to get some japanese street food like these bean pancakes! Very yummy!
I also bought these different Japanese cakes and lots and lots of bread. They were all good!
and very beautiful. I love how Japanese are such perfectionists and everything they make seem to be flawless.
Sashimis
Happy baby who loves sushi
and who loves little Japanese parasols
So cute! Everyone was stopping to say how cute he was with his little umbrella.
And my most favorite thing is seeing my family so happy...
That, to me is priceless.

thrifting galore

Almost every other Saturday, my mom and I goes out thrifting. And I enjoy it very much. After many years, we found something in common and it became our quality time together.

So last Saturday we found this.

$25 antique worn down dresser. Mom said it was ugly and expensive (for $25!!!) and she didn't want to haul it but I had a vision so insisted.
I am so used to restoring furnitures I can do it with my eyes closed!

Voila! After about an hour! And my mom wants it so bad!
It looks perfect in my studio!
Inside are my fabrics and flowers and other trims.
like these

My 'new' antique chair we are fighting over. I love it next to my fireplace.

You can never have enough ornate mirrors! I want more! This is now in the living room, remember, I took the one that was here for the bathroom. I'm still thinking if I should paint this black. What do you think?

You can never have enough glass lamps too!
Another vintage mirror!

Oh MariƩ

I love MariƩ Digby! I first heard her cover songs about a year ago on youtube. Contrary to what most say that she started off on youtube, she said in one interview in Japan that she already had a record contract before taking videos of herself and posting them on youtube but of course, youtube did help her become famous.

I love, love her innocent pretty face and her cute girly voice. And don't you just love this photo?

She is half American, half Japanese and can speak Japanese too.

I don't know if she is big here as she is in Asia. Have you heard of her before?

Check her music out on youtube, specially her cover songs.
Here's one from her own album

Have a happy weekend!
